Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA) is seeking a part-time Youth Program Assistant to prepare, facilitate, and evaluate enrichment activities for youth across our sites in Greater Austin. This role ensures a safe environment and adherence to safety policies on-site.

Hours are about 20 per week during the school year (Mon–Fri) with additional time in after-school and break periods. Responsibilities include officiating sports events, maintaining game standards, and supporting youth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Familiar with multiple sports and rules.
• Must pass background, reference, and drug tests.
• Able to work with youth professionally.
• Willingness to obtain NASO sports official certification.
• Able to stand for long periods and move equipment up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Officiate sporting events, games, or competitions and enforce game rules.
• Signal infractions and regulate play as needed.
• Inspect equipment and verify participant safety compliance.
• Track event times and manage start/stop during segments.
• Provide constructive feedback to youth athletes.
• Enforce Club rules and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Attend meetings and training when prescribed.
• May drive shuttle bus or Club transportation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
