Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area in Round Rock, TX seeks a part-time Youth Development Professional to support after-school programs and Power Hour homework help. You will engage youth aged 5–18, lead activities, and foster social skills, self-esteem, and character.

Spanish speaking preferred and a valid driver’s license is a plus. Responsibilities include preparing materials, supervising diverse activities, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required or equivalent.
• Background check and reference check required; must maintain professional demeanor.
• Associate degree in education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares materials for programming.
• Leads activities to foster mental, physical, and social development.
• Works with youth individually or in groups to facilitate programming.
• Encourages and supports development of social skills, self-esteem and character.
• Assists with homework during Power Hour.
• Provides feedback using positive reinforcement to build confidence.
• Enforces rules and maintains a professional role-model persona.
• Checks in/out youth and maintains attendance records.
• Supervises youth in classrooms, cafeteria, playground, and during field trips.
• Maintains clean and safe Club area and prepares meals/snacks as guided.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; performs other duties as assigned.
