Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Sports Assistant to support practices, games and events for children, ensuring a safe, engaging and values-driven program.

You will work closely with the Youth Sports Department, promoting core YMCA values and maintaining respectful, positive interactions with children, parents and staff. Flexible scheduling and event participation are required.

Qualifications

• Must have childcare experience and willingness to engage children.
• CPR/First Aid/AED required within 30 days of hire; training provided as needed.
• Good written and verbal communication with children, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support youth sports practices, games and events.
• Promote YMCA core values in all activities and interactions.
• Ensure safety and fair play according to program rules.
• Prepare playing areas and assist with event setup.
• Coordinate with parents and staff; attend meetings and trainings.
