Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a part-time staff member to direct youth program activities on game days, practices, camps, and academies. You will ensure quality experiences for participants and parents and focus on youth development.

You will promote YMCA core values, supervise staff and volunteers, set up equipment, monitor safety, and collaborate with the Director on scheduling and program operations, including promotional events.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required.
• Must possess clear communication with children and adults.
• Must have a keen desire to work with children and relate positively.
• Must possess basic knowledge of sports.
• Flexible schedule to work weekends.
• At least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and incorporates the YMCA values into all program activities.
• Treats participants, parents and staff with dignity and respect.
• Assists and supervises program activities and staff.
• Sets up equipment for games and practices.
• Monitors safety and enforces game rules.
• Provides training support and coordinates volunteer coaches.
