Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is hiring a Sports Instructor at Garfield Community Center in Seattle, WA. This part-time, year-round position focuses on introducing youth aged 5-8 to multiple sports such as soccer, basketball, kickball, and racket sports in a fun, supportive setting.

Start date is 4/1/2026 with flexible weekdays and about 5 hours per week. Pay ranges from $25.00 to $27.00 per hour, with potential overtime up to $35.00/hour with years of service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Experience planning and supervising recreational programs and/or educational activities for children

Responsibilities

• Introduce participants to a variety of sports and athletic activities in a fun and supportive environment.
• Enhance participants' skills in soccer, basketball, racket sports as they learn the fundamentals and play the games.
• Emphasize mental attitude, teamwork, how to play as a team, and the benefits of playing sports.
