The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco is now hiring JCCSF Sports Coaches for all sports that we offer, such as basketball, volleyball, and more. The position requires a background in coaching and/or extensive knowledge of sports, combined with a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with children aged 3 to 11 years. The JCCSF youth sports program is crafted to instill both sport-specific skills and life lessons within a positive and enjoyable atmosphere. Successful applicants will embody these values while offering steadfast leadership and commitment to our young program participants.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop class objectives in alignment with the JCCSF youth sports program philosophies.
  • Organize stimulating practices and games, emphasizing fundamental skill development through positive reinforcement.
  • Attend weekday classes consistently.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Learn and follow JCCSF policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience working with children aged 3-11 years.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development a plus.
  • Familiarity with various sports and ability to demonstrate basic skills.
  • Previous experience as a youth coach is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Availability for all scheduled classes, trainings, and meetings.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is conducted indoors at the JCCSF facility. Work involves ongoing contact with children, parents, and department staff members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move and lift equipment up to 15lbs.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic sports skill and lead exercises and drills.
STATUS

Temporary/seasonal, non-exempt position

HOURS/SCHEDULE

2 – 10 hours/week. September – December. Must be available for the entire session, with flexibility for one to two weekday afternoons or evenings, Monday – Thursday.
