Youth Sports Instructor

The City of Chelsea is seeking a part-time, dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join our team and lead youth sports instruction. Schedule is flexible; classes can be held between 10am-8:30pm and may include one weekend day, but are dependent on the season and program needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and instruct youth sports programs across a variety of sports.
• Experience in flag football, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and/or girls’ sports is a plus.
• Create an engaging and educational environment that promotes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Adapt teaching methods to support participants of various skill levels and backgrounds.
• Assist with program logistics, including setup, breakdown, and transportation of equipment or participants if necessary.
• Serve as a positive role model demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management or a related field preferred.
• Minimum two-year experience in youth sports instruction.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to assist with transportation.

• Good role model, high integrity and professionalism, and adaptable.
• Ability to connect with and engage diverse communities in a welcoming/inclusive manner.
• Strong communication skills, reliable team player and professional.
