Job Location: Hale Y and ELC - Quincy, MA

Salary Range: $17.00 - $25.00 Hourly

Description

Under the guidance of the Sport & Recreation Director, this position is responsible for planning, executing, and interacting with members and non-members during daily activities for various age groups at the Field House and outdoor fields. The role includes leading the youth volleyball program and summer camps, providing a safe environment, and ensuring excellent member service. The instructor will assist with volleyball class supervision, organization, communication, and adherence to Sport & Recreation policies and procedures.

Core Expectations

1. Program Execution: Develop and implement activities and programs, supervise children/participants, ensure safety, and promote positive member service following YMCA policies.
2. Staff Engagement and Teamwork: Collaborate respectfully with staff, communicate issues, attend meetings, and maintain certifications.
3. Member Engagement & Development: Provide welcoming service, respond to inquiries, educate on policies, and foster community connections.
4. Facility Management: Maintain a clean, safe environment and report equipment issues.
5. Volunteer Development: Support and coordinate with volunteers.
6. Community Involvement & Support: Participate in fundraising and build community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Experience working with children preferred
• Knowledge of volleyball; certifications preferred
• CPR/AED & First Aid certifications required
• Ability to build effective relationships and deliver excellent service
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and enthusiasm

Physical Demands
