Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta in Decatur, GA is seeking a Sports Specialty Instructor to deliver sport-specific training and skill development for youth and adults. Under the supervision of the Sports Directors, you will teach basic rules, techniques, and safety, build a positive environment, and collaborate with schools and community partners.

Qualifications

Must be 21 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
2+ years of coaching or instructing experience OR 2+ years competitive college-level experience.
Must currently hold or be able to acquire any required certification for sport.
Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
Criminal background check required and eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction in sports activities.
Participate in special events and activities related to the sport.
Maintain effective relationships with schools, parents, participants, and other groups.
Create an environment that provides various activities and instruction to support program goals.
Answer inquiries from participants, parents, volunteers, or other stakeholders; provide timely information.
Attend staff meetings and approved training as required.
Conduct assessments of program participants.
