Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Sports Specialty Instructor to deliver sport-specific training and skill development at the Summit Family YMCA. You will teach beginners and help experienced athletes sharpen techniques, while upholding safety and program standards in alignment with YMCA policies and mission.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction, supporting events, building participant relationships, and assessing progress.

Qualifications

Must be 21 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
2+ years of coaching or instructing experience, or 2+ years at college level in the sport.
Must hold or obtain required sport certifications (Safe Sport, CDC Heads Up Concussion) and CPR/First Aid within 30 days.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service.
Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction in sports activities.
Participate in special events and activities related to the sport.
Maintain effective relationships with schools, parents, participants, and groups.
Create an environment with activities and instruction aligned to program goals.
Answer inquiries from participants, parents, volunteers, or stakeholders and provide information timely.
Attend staff meetings and approved training as required.
Conduct assessments of program participants.
