Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Sports Instructor to plan and lead diverse athletic programs and activities. You will coach, promote leagues, and maintain a safe, engaging environment for participants and volunteers.

The role requires evenings and Saturdays, up to 18 hours weekly, with a pay rate of $15.60–$20.66 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential for Friday to Sunday evenings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year experience in a recreational setting preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and AED Certification required.
• Possession of a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army’s insurance carrier preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively ensure a safe recreation environment for all participants.
• Assist in planning, directing, and guiding athletic and recreation programs.
• Act as sports instructors and/or coaches for assigned programs.
• Teach/lead educational programs in arts, games, computer skills, and others.
• Assist volunteer coaches, referees, leaders, and instructors in program delivery.
• Execute league and tournament schedules and act as instructor/referee as needed.
• Assist in development of systems safeguarding facilities, supplies and equipment.
