Job summary

The Salvation Army Grand Rapids Kroc Center is seeking a part-time Basketball Instructor to lead classes for all ages. Instructors design and deliver instructional plans, demonstrate proper techniques, and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, communicating clearly with participants, and coordinating with program managers to ensure quality outcomes. Must be 18+ with relevant experience and certifications as required.

Qualifications

• Appropriate prior experience teaching or working in the area of instruction specified; required.
• Certification or a degree in a related field or level of expertise is required.
• Must have up-to-date personal insurance prior to employment.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience teaching group exercise programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide state-of-the-art instruction contributing to class goals.
• Develop and instruct fun, energetic classes for all ages and skill levels.
• Implement safety measures to ensure health and safety of participants.
• Maintain professional demeanor with students, staff, and management.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials; manage classrooms.
• Speak before groups with poise and enthusiasm.
