Job summary

The Greater Austin YMCA is seeking a Sports Clinic Instructor to lead youth sports clinics for ages 4–14 in a weekly, session-based setting. You will teach fundamentals through drills, conditioning, and games while prioritizing safety and positive development.

You'll foster connections with families, maintain records, and support the Y's mission and community presence. CPR/First Aid may be required within 30 days, and you will promote belonging and respectful participation in a welcoming

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of age or older.
• Experience in being part of a sports team or passion for teaching sports.
• Instructor experience preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certifications (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).

Responsibilities

• Foster positive relationships with each student, actively engaging to promote their overall development and well-being.
• Prioritize safety and well-being of children, adhere to policies, ensure a safe environment.
• Maintain open communication with parents of participating students.
• Keep accurate records to track student attendance in clinic sessions.
• Conduct warm-up sessions as assigned by the supervisor and prep students for activities.
• Administer first aid as needed and complete incident/accident paperwork.
• Assist supervisor in setting up and taking down courts or play areas as required.
• Promote the YMCA's values, mission, wellness philosophy, and community role.
• Lead by example with program participants, members, staff and guests.
• Become an Ambassador of the Y's work and culture.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
