Job summary

The Greater Austin YMCA is seeking a Youth and Family Coordinator to lead youth sports programs on-site in Greater Austin. You will be the main point of contact for participants, families, and members, ensuring welcoming experiences and program safety while modeling the Y’s values.

You will assist with team prep, scheduling, clinics, and activities, supervise games when needed, and coordinate referees. CPR/First Aid is preferred or willingness to obtain; evening and weekend availability is

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience participating in or coaching youth or adult sports programs.
Experience leading or supervising staff, volunteers, or peers is a plus.
CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service as the main contact for participants with questions about schedules, equipment, or minor issues.
Assist with preparing teams, creating schedules, planning clinics, and organizing activities.
Supervise games and programs when the Program Director is unavailable, including handling conflicts, weather cancellations, or schedule changes.
Schedule referees/officials for games and be ready to referee if needed.
Keep score during games and enforce basic rules about player eligibility.
Administer first aid when needed and complete incident reports.
