Job summary

Greater Austin YMCA seeks a Sports Clinic Instructor to guide youth ages 4-14 in weekly, session-based clinics. You'll demonstrate fundamentals through drills, conditioning, and games, building positive connections and prioritizing safety.

You will foster development, communicate with parents, and support the YMCA's mission and values while leading warm-ups and assisting with setup.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • Experience in being part of a sports team or passion for teaching sports.
  • Instructor experience preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certifications must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Foster positive relationships with each student, actively engaging to promote their overall development and well-being.
  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of children, adhering to policies and procedures, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents of participating students, addressing any concerns or inquiries as needed.
  • Keep accurate records to track student attendance in clinic sessions.
  • Conduct warm-up sessions as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring that students are properly prepared for clinic activities.
  • Be prepared to administer first aid as needed and complete the required incident and accident paperwork.
  • Assist the facility supervisor in setting up and taking down courts or play areas as required.
  • Promotethe YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.
  • Lead by example the Y’s mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.
  • Become an Ambassador of the Y’s work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
