Job summary

Greater Austin YMCA seeks a Gymnastics Instructor to lead classes for children ages 3–12, teaching foundational movement, coordination, and dance-inspired routines in a safe, nurturing environment.

You will tailor lessons to each age group, model teamwork and sportsmanship, and help organize performances and community events. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or must be achieved within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Dance and gymnastics or cheer/tumbling background.
• Instructor experience preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications preferred or obtainable within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead gymnastics classes for children ages 3–12 with age-appropriate skills.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Incorporate dance components with rhythm and movement into instruction.
• Promote safety through proper technique, warm-ups, and spotting methods.
• Coordinate performances, showcases, and event logistics.
• Maintain practice area cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Communicate progress and upcoming events with parents and the Program Director.
• Model sportsmanship, respect, and positive behavior.
• Represent the YMCA positively to internal and external stakeholders.
