Job summary

YMCA in Ohio is seeking energetic youth development leaders to guide participants in activities like soccer, basketball, and sports programs, fostering growth and confidence. You will model positive behavior, promote health, and create safe, engaging environments that support diverse families and community belonging.

Responsibilities include leading classes, answering questions, building relationships with families, and coordinating volunteers while maintaining records and adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification must be obtained within the first 60 days.
• Must be at least 16 years old and have experience participating in the area of instruction; previous experience instructing preferred.
• Passionate belief in the Y’s cause of nurturing the potential of all youth and healthy living.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes, practices, and games to advance the YMCA mission.
• Answers questions from participants/parents to support youth development goals and trends.
• Builds authentic relationships with students and parents; encourages volunteer involvement.
• Conveys program information and schedules; connects participants with other YMCA offerings.
• Keeps accurate class records and follows YMCA policies; assists in emergency response.
