Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking a Program Instructor to deliver age-appropriate sports programs and supervise activities in the gym and program sites. You will model YMCA Character Development values and reinforce the Y culture in every lesson.

You will keep facilities clean, manage attendance records, address hazards, follow safety policies, and participate in staff trainings to ensure programs meet YMCA standards and respond to the needs of diverse participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associates degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year's experience in programming/program growth (youth oriented programming and sports).
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training within 90 days of hire; Bloodborne Pathogen standards training.

Responsibilities

• Plan activities in advance with proper materials and attire, and be on time.
• Incorporate YMCA Character Development values into each lesson.
• Maintain class/participant attendance and skill records.
• Keep gym area clean and address hazards.
• Plan culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with YMCA values.
• Adhere to safety and cleanliness standards; follow policies and procedures (medical, disciplinary, abuse prevention, emergencies).
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; ensure classes meet YMCA Cleveland standards.
• Maintain positive relations with patrons and staff; model relationship-building in all interactions.
• Follow child abuse reporting processes and notify supervisors and HR as required.
