Job summary

The YMCA of Columbus is seeking a passionate Soccer Instructor in Whitehall, OH to inspire kids aged 4–12. Plan and run engaging practices, teach core skills, and lead games in a safe, fun environment that promotes teamwork and sportsmanship.

Ideal candidates are youth-focused with coaching experience and strong communication. Must be at least 16 years old with related instructional background; CPR/First Aid certifications required within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Passionate belief in the Y’s cause of nurturing youth and healthy living.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups within the community.
• Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid within 60 days.
• Must be at least 16 years old with instruction experience; prior teaching helps.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate soccer practices for youth ages 4–12.
• Teach fundamental skills: dribbling, passing, shooting, defense.
• Demonstrate drills and game concepts; oversee scrimmages or games.
• Encourage confidence, teamwork, and overall skill development.
• Support YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring.
• Maintain class records; follow YMCA policies and safety procedures.
• Prepare/maintain field and equipment; report damaged items.
• Officiate matches and supervise volunteers.
