Job summary

Catholic Charities of Community Maternity Services is seeking a Youth Specialist & Child Care Worker in Albany, NY. This role supports youths in a structured, therapeutic setting with evening availability and potential for full-time hours.

You will provide daily care, ensure safety, and assist with transportation and family visits, contributing to a positive, supportive environment for residents and their children.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience with a diverse population preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must stay awake during entire shift, including overnight.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, supervision, and emotional support to residents and their children (if applicable).
• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all residents at all times.
• Supervise youth during visits with family or identified visitors, following Family Plans and case plans.
• Plan and implement a balanced daily routine and group living experiences.
• Provide coverage at CMS residential programs as assigned.
• Transport clients to school, medical appointments, court dates, visitation, or other activities.

We are hiring Youth Specialists at the Farano Center to support youth in a structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment. These are ongoing openings, and we welcome applicants for full-timeand evening availability.

As the Youth Specialist & Child Care Worker, you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:

• Provide daily care, supervision, and emotional support to residents and their children (if applicable)
• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all residents at all times
• Supervise youth during visits with family members or identified visitors, following Family Plans and case plans
• Plan and implement a balanced daily routine and group living experiences
• Provide coverage at any CMS residential program as assigned
• Transport clients to school, medical appointments, court dates, visitation, or other activities

Youth Specialist & Child Care Worker Minimum Salary: $17.00/hour

Youth Specialist & Child Care Worker Maximum Salary: $20.00/hour

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 - 3 years of experience of working with a diverse population
• Valid driver's license
• Must remain awake and alert during entire shift, including overnight
• Must remain on shift until next shift arrives and is briefed
• Must work holiday and weeks when part of the regular schedule
