Job summary

Spectrum Youth & Family Services seeks a Shelter Coordinator for the St Albans Youth Shelter in Saint Albans City, VT. This full-time role reports to the Director of Basic Needs Programs and supervises Youth Coaches and temporary staff, coordinating services and ensuring program standards are met.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least three years in social services with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and relevant experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Three years’ experience in a relevant social service position and/or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation mandatory.
• Ability to lead staff and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the St Albans Youth Shelter.
• Provide direct supervision to Youth Coaches and staff; recruit and train.
• Onboard new staff and offboard leaving staff; provide training.
• Oversee schedules and coordinate with inter-agency teams.
• Assist youth with housing, health care, and benefits.
• Maintain youth files and agency documentation.
• Develop policy and reports; deliver community presentations.
