Job summary

State of Missouri's Division of Youth Services seeks a Youth Services Worker to provide treatment services and ensure safety for youth in day treatment and residential programs. Responsibilities include supervising youth, delivering group activities, dispensing medications, and responding to emergencies in a professional, empathetic manner.

Requirements include 60+ college credits or 2–4 years of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 60+ earned college credits with six credits in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology or Social Work
• OR 2–4 years of relevant experience
• Special Requirement: Possession of a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Provide Awareness Supervision to youth and oversee their conduct, care and therapy
• Monitor activity, behavior and movement of youth in residential/day treatment settings
• Maintain security and participate in physical restraints during emergencies or altercations
• Supervise youth during work activities, recreational and religious activities; inspect health and safety hazards
• Assist youth with personal issues and refer to group sessions as appropriate
• Implement group and individual treatment plans
• Maintain professional boundaries and interact positively with youth, families and staff
• Prepare reports on client adjustment and progress; maintain youth records
• Dispense medications to youth and respond to medical emergencies including CPR
• Transport and escort youth in everyday and emergency situations
• Work on shifts, attend mandatory meetings, and log hours and absences
• May assist in the educational program
• Perform other tasks as assigned
