Job summary

Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library is seeking a full-time Youth Services Manager to lead system-wide youth programs at the Main Library in Chillicothe, Ohio. The role requires a Master’s in library science or current enrollment in an ALA-accredited program, plus experience with children and teens.

The position emphasizes staff supervision, program development, community partnerships, and ongoing evaluation of services, with some evening/weekend work required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science or active enrollment in an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience working with children and/or teens in a library setting.
• Ability to supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate staff.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate youth services and initiatives across the system.
• Provide leadership and coaching to Youth Services staff.
• Establish department goals, procedures, and standards for youth programming.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate engaging programs promoting literacy and lifelong learning.
• Build relationships with schools, educators, families, and community partners.
• Represent Youth & Teen Services on program development teams and collaborate with other teams.
• Promote youth services in the community and maintain collections for children.
