Job summary

Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library is seeking a full-time Youth Services Manager to oversee programs for children and caregivers at the Main Library in Chillicothe, Ohio. The position offers a starting wage of $25.36 per hour and a 40-hour work week, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation and sick leave, and eleven paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Master’s in library science or active enrollment in an ALA-accredited program.
• Professional library experience with children/teens.
• Ability to supervise, coach, and evaluate staff.
• Proven planning, organizational, and multi-project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate youth services across the system.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to Youth Services staff.
• Set goals, procedures, and standards for youth services and programming.
• Develop and evaluate programs supporting literacy and lifelong learning.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, families, and community groups.
• Promote Youth Services programs in collaboration with Communications.
• Track and report statistics to measure impact and improvement.
• Represent the library in outreach, partnerships, and professional organizations.
• Provide reference and readers’ advisory to library users.
