Job summary

Manheim Township Library is seeking a part-time Library Assistant for Youth Services to support children, tweens and teens. You will assist patrons, deliver readers advisory services, and help plan and run engaging programs, including the Summer Reading Program, in a busy youth services setting.

The role requires evenings and weekend availability, with approximately 24 hours per week, reporting to the Youth Services Manager. Prior library experience is valued.

• Must enjoy working with children, tweens and teens.
• Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Able to work as both a team member and independently.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with library resources and services.
• Provide readers advisory based on age and reading level.
• Plan and implement educational, entertaining, and enriching programs for children, tweens, and teens.
• Assist with program registrations and SRP facilitation.
• Shelve materials and assist with library operations.
• Record statistics and enforce Code of Conduct.
