Job summary

Town of Manchester is seeking a Library staff member to support Youth Services, reference and circulation, and program development. You will help maintain collections, assist customers, and supervise operations in the absence of a librarian.

You will participate in program implementation, staff coordination, and community outreach while maintaining policies and high service standards. Evening and weekend work are routinely expected.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Master’s degree in library science and at least one year of library experience.
• Strong knowledge of automated library systems and policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with customers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and implementation of programs to increase customer awareness of library resources.
• Maintain and organize library materials and equipment, and prepare requisitions for supplies.
• Provide information and guidance to customers and supervise staff in the absence of librarians.
• Prepare statistical reports and ensure proper library operations.
