Job summary

Pleasant Hill Public Library is seeking a qualified Youth Services Librarian to coordinate and implement programs for children, teens, and caregivers. Responsibilities include collection development for youth, reference services, and supervision of the Youth Outreach Specialist.

Bachelor's is required; MLS preferred; Iowa endorsement within one year. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood development, education, or related field.
• Master of Library Science degree preferred.
• Two+ years of public library experience with increasing responsibilities, youth services preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have or acquire State of Iowa Library Youth Services Endorsement within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement programs, outreach, and services for children, teens, and caregivers.
• Manage collection development for children's and teen materials.
• Provide quality reference and readers' advisory, and other library services to all patrons.
• Supervise the Youth Outreach Specialist daily.
• Report to the Library Director.
