Job summary

Pleasant Hill Public Library in Pleasant Hill, IA seeks a full-time Youth Services Librarian to coordinate programs, outreach, and services for children, teens, and caregivers. The role includes collection development for youth materials and providing reference and readers' advisory.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master of Library and Information Sciences is preferred. Two+ years of public library experience and supervisory skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood development, education, or related field.
• Master of Library and Information Sciences preferred.
• Two+ years of public library experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have or acquire State of Iowa Library Youth Services Endorsement within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement programs, outreach, and services for children, teens, and caregivers.
• Manage collection development for children's and teen materials.
• Provide reference, readers' advisory, and other library services to patrons.
• Collaborate with the Youth Outreach Specialist and supervise day-to-day operations.
