Job summary

Jamestown Community Center is seeking a Safety and Support staff member to supervise the Longfellow Elementary grounds and interiors during after-school programs. The role focuses on keeping participants safe, de-escalating conflicts, and covering classes if needed.

Under the School Site Manager, you will maintain logs, report incidents, and comply with Jamestown policies and youth laws. This is a part-time, hourly position with background checks and travel within the Bay Area as required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with multi-ethnic, multicultural middle school youth.
• Experience providing project-based learning opportunities to youth.
• Experience working with youth and families is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct students, youth, and adults not enrolled in after-school programs off the school site and patrol the yard/building.
• Provide first aid care if needed and de-escalate conflicts as they arise.
• Maintain daily logs and report vandalism or injuries; meet with the site manager as needed.
