Job summary

RIOT is seeking a part-time Camp Coordinator to support Youth Rock Camp 2027. You will partner with the RIOT Board to lead planning and logistics, co-design the daily schedule, and identify workshop facilitators and volunteers.

During camp week you will oversee daily operations and supervise a 20–30 person volunteer team, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and identity-affirming experience for middle school youth.

Responsibilities

• PLANNING & LOGISTICS — Lead camp planning with support from the RIOT Board, including scouting and securing camp and showcase locations, coordinating site visits, managing timelines, and ensuring all operational needs are in place before summer.
• SCHEDULE & PROGRAM PREPARATION — Co-design the daily camp schedule with the Board; coordinate workshop and lesson needs; identify workshop facilitators; determine volunteer roles and daily staffing needs.
• ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT — Manage email, documentation, family inquiries, and records throughout planning.
• BUDGET OVERSIGHT — Refine and monitor the camp budget; track expenses; surface costs early.
• VOLUNTEER COORDINATION — Manage communication and scheduling for 20–30 volunteers; recruitment support with Board.
• CAMP WEEK LEADERSHIP — Lead daily operations, staff huddles, safety checks, transitions, family communication, and showcase execution.
• WEEKLY PROGRESS REPORTING — Provide weekly updates to the Board on planning progress and blockers.
• VALUES-BASED PRACTICE — Model trauma-informed, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive pedagogy.
