Job summary

National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) seeks an Attorney to support ongoing litigation and policy advocacy across civil rights, youth justice, and education equity. The role spans investigations through trial, including legal research, document review, memos, and witness preparation.

The position lasts one year, with compensation in a broad range and a robust benefits package. Location is flexible for a national US candidate with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Between 4 and 7 years of relevant post-law school experience.
• Member in good standing of the bar of at least one state.

Responsibilities

• Conduct case factual and legal development to support investigations and litigation.
• Assist with pleadings, depositions, witness preparation, and discovery.
• Draft declarations, pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memos.
• Assist with implementing remedies and settlement agreements.
• Collaborate with NCYL staff and external partners on litigation.
• Provide input into litigation strategy aligned with NCYL's mission.
• May direct paralegals and supervise fellows.
