The National Center for Youth Law seeks a Senior Directing Attorney to independently lead complex litigation from strategic opportunities to trials and appeals, including remedy implementation and public communications. You will supervise staff, coordinate with co-counsel, and manage case budgets and fee recovery.

This role shapes litigation strategy in line with NCYL’s mission, participates in fundraising and media engagement, and represents the organization in diverse forums.

Formación

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school required.
• Bar admission in good standing in at least one state.
• Minimum 16 years of relevant experience in impact litigation and reform.
• Experience leading complex litigation from inception to remedy.
• Ability to supervise, mentor, and manage diverse teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead complex litigation across multiple jurisdictions, including investigations, filings, discovery, negotiations, trials, and appeals.
• Oversee remedy and settlement implementation, tracking compliance and drafting related motions.
• Manage budgets, costs, and fee recovery.
• Supervise external partners, including co-counsel and pro bono counsel.
• Represent NCYL externally in conferences and media engagements.
• Support fundraising and development activities for NCYL’s litigation goals.
• Supervise staff and coordinate litigation development with advocacy strategies.
