National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) seeks a Senior Directing Attorney to lead and direct complex litigation, from identifying strategic opportunities to managing trials, appeals, and public communications. The role includes oversight of remedies, supervision of legal staff, and coordination with co-counsel and external partners.

The Senior Directing Attorney will report to the co-directors of litigation and contribute to fundraising, media engagement, and NCYL’s mission to defend youth civil

Competenze

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Bar membership in good standing in at least one state.
• A minimum of 16 years of relevant experience, including leading impact litigation from inception to reform implementation.

Mansioni

• Lead complex litigation across multiple jurisdictions, including investigations, filings, discovery, negotiations, trials, appeals, and public communications.
• Oversee remedy implementation and conduct post-litigation monitoring and fee recovery.
• Supervise staff and coordinate with co-counsel and external partners, including pro bono counsel.

Formazione

Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school

Bar admission in at least one state

Minimum 16 years of relevant experience
