Job summary

National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) in Oakland seeks a Senior Directing Attorney to independently lead complex litigation from opportunity identification to reform implementation. Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in good standing in at least one state.
• Minimum of 16 years of relevant experience since law school graduation, including leadership of impact litigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex litigation from inception to reform implementation across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee remedy and settlement implementation, tracking compliance and filings.
• Manage case budgets and fee recovery, including external partners and co-counsel.
• Represent NCYL externally at conferences and with media; support fundraising and development.
