Job summary

UNITED COUNSELING SERVICE OF BENNINGTON COUNTY INC is seeking a Direct Support Professional - Respite to support children with mental health needs. You will assist in instruction, supervision, and inclusion into the community and improve social skills.

Under the Therapeutic Activities Program Coordinator, this role emphasizes developing independence, coordinating community activities, and crisis intervention while adhering to treatment plans and confidentiality protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in human services field preferred.
• Experience working with children and youth required.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• DIRECT SERVICE: Provides recreational activities and services to children in a respectful, friendly, and professional manner that supports client choice and community inclusion.
• RECORDKEEPING: Maintains timely and thorough client records and program documentation.
• NETWORKING: Shares information professionally with staff, families, and partners, and participates in team meetings.
• CONSULTATION: Serves as a member of the child’s treatment team and updates case managers and parents as needed.
