Job summary

Talbert House is seeking compassionate, dependable Therapeutic Support Specialists to join our Youth Residential care team on our new Child Wellness Campus. In this role, you will provide direct care, supervision, and support to youth in a structured residential treatment environment.

This position helps youths build healthy coping skills, develop positive relationships, and grow personally while ensuring a safe living environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency driving requirements.
• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision and support to youth in a residential treatment setting.
• Foster a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that promotes emotional and behavioral growth.
• Utilize trauma-informed and strength-based approaches when interacting with youth and families.
• Support youth in developing healthy decision-making, communication, and coping skills.
• Build positive, professional relationships while serving as a consistent and supportive role model.
• Assist with implementing individualized treatment goals, behavior support plans, and daily routines.
• Facilitate and participate in therapeutic, recreational, educational, and life-skills activities.
• Utilize approved crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to maintain safety.
• Monitor and maintain health, safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the facility.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including shift reports and incident reporting.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and critical incidents according to agency policies and procedures.
• Transport youth as required by program needs.
• Collaborate effectively with treatment team members and other professionals to support positive outcomes for youth.
