Job summary

Lutheran Social Services Canyon Hill's Center seeks a dedicated kitchen team member to provide nutritious meals for teens in a residential setting. You will plan, prepare, and serve meals following dietary guidelines and budgets, while supervising youth assisting in the kitchen and maintaining a respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous meal prep experience preferred.
• Be at least 21 years old and willing to complete agency background checks.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license or obtain one with approved driver status.
• Must successfully complete all required agency background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritious, well-balanced meals for youth ages 10 to 17 in a residential care setting.
• Plan, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
• May assist with food purchasing, inventory management, and special events within budgets.
• Ensure kitchen and food storage areas meet health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and maintain clean, organized, and stocked work areas.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, equipment, and surfaces.
• Train and supervise youth assisting with kitchen duties while promoting a safe, supportive environment.
