Job summary

Growth Centers of America in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations within our residential treatment program for adolescents. You will prepare nutritious, appealing meals, plan rotating menus, and manage kitchen workflow to support a structured mealtime environment.

You are organized, calm under pressure, and dedicated to maintaining high sanitation standards while collaborating with program staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in kitchen, restaurant, food service, or residential settings.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment, sanitation, and food safety standards.
• Ability to lift heavy pots, food containers, and kitchen equipment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals and snacks for adolescent residents.
• Develop rotating menus that are balanced, nutritious, and appealing to teens ages 12–17.
• Prepare a variety of foods including grilled, baked, sautéed, fried, and cold dishes.
• Follow and create recipes while introducing creative meal ideas and specials.
• Coordinate kitchen responsibilities and maintain efficient daily operations.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served according to scheduling requirements.
