Legacy Treatment Services seeks a Direct Support Professional to work with adolescents in a residential setting in New Jersey. You will build relationships, mentor youth, help with daily life skills, and support family and school activities.

Weekend availability is required; the role offers full-time benefits and opportunities for growth within a supportive team. Training includes CPR/First Aid and Crisis Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with 3 years' relevant experience
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work with adolescents in a residential setting
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Must pass mandated trainings (Crisis Management, CPR, First Aid)
• CHRI and state registry checks required
• Able to lift 50 lbs frequently
• Weekend availability required
• Drive and operate agency vehicles per policies

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with adolescents.
• Mentor and encourage youth through daily challenges while promoting positive decisions.
• Support community integration by accompanying adolescents to school activities and appointments.
• Teach and reinforce essential life skills including cooking, laundry, cleaning, and personal responsibility.
• Use positive reinforcement and crisis de-escalation techniques to help adolescents succeed.
• Participate in recreational activities.
• Serve as a positive role model helping adolescents develop independence and confidence.
