Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers, Inc. in Keene, NH is seeking a part-time Residential Counselor to support teens in Unity House. You will help maintain a safe living environment, implement program routines, and assist youths ages 14-18 in meeting treatment goals.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma and at least one year of childcare experience in a residential setting. Training and supervision will be provided, with emphasis on safety and supportive care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year plus childcare experience in a residential setting with similar population of children.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for clients under supervisor guidance.
• Be knowledgeable of the program’s mission, treatment philosophy, and policies, applying them in direct care.
• Maintain routines and structure for clients, promoting healthy relationships through daily interactions.
• Supervise activities of daily living (hygiene, clothing, chores) and assist transition between activities.
• Provide First Aid as needed and coordinate with supervising staff during medical or emergency situations.
• Document time sheets, level cards, goals, incidents, and 51A’s thoroughly and timely; participate in trainings and supervision.
