Job summary

Mountain Youth Academy in Mountain City, Tennessee is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide support and structure for youths undergoing behavioral health treatment. You will help create a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment and work with a multidisciplinary team to monitor residents' progress.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED; an Associates and/or Bachelors degree with related healthcare experience can increase base pay.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate support and supervision to patients/residents throughout their treatment experience.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment.
• Build trusting and respectful relationships with individuals in our care.
• Monitor patient behavior and communicate changes or concerns to the appropriate clinical team members.
• Assist with daily activities, routines, and therapeutic programming.
• Encourage participation in treatment and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Follow all safety, confidentiality, and behavioral health policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, counselors, and other members of the treatment team.
• Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating patience, professionalism, and respect.
