Job summary

Youth Villages is hiring Behavioral Youth Counselors/Assistants to support our residential treatment program for youth in Tennessee and Georgia. The role focuses on teaching life skills, supporting treatment planning, and transporting youth to appointments and community activities, all within a trauma-informed, therapeutic setting.

The position involves non-traditional schedules with evening and weekend shifts, and requires physical tasks and CPI/CPR training.

Qualifications

• Experience working with at‑risk youth and/or families is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with youth is required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Teaches youth necessary life skills and provides for their daily physical care.
• Assists in treatment planning for each youth.
• Participates in youth transports to various locations (doctors, court, community outings, home passes).
• Participates in recreation therapy sessions with assigned group of youth.
• Helps youth develop and implement positive coping skills using therapeutic interventions.
• Facilitates group therapy sessions to support youth building life and social skills.
• Completes daily documentation in an EMR system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
