Job summary

The State of Washington’s DCYF seeks a Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor 1 in Yakima, WA to deliver transitional services and assist with monitoring reentry for youth on parole and Community Transition Service plans.

You will work under supervision with JRC2s and Specialists to provide case management, planning, and referrals for a caseload of youths and families in the Community Transitions Program.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four years.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years of college plus two years of relevant experience as described above.
• Two years of college plus two years of professional experience with at-risk/juvenile justice youth.

Responsibilities

• Manage a limited caseload of one to two youths under supervision.
• Assist JRC2s in supervising youths with complex needs and their families.
• Assess youth behavior for risk and refer to intervention services.
• Monitor compliance with parole conditions and service plans.
• Interview and obtain information from multiple sources and report findings.
• Support youths and families in community services and maintain professional boundaries.
• Model pro-social behavior and de-escalate crises using approved methods.
• Transport youths to appointments and service providers as needed.
