Job summary

ServingSchools is hiring for a full-time Recreation/Youth Programs specialist in Maine. You will direct students in leisure-time activities, organize programs, and support trips and events, with responsibilities including coaching teams and assisting in drama and arts projects.

Minimum one year of youth experience or an Associate degree is required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Lifeguard certification and coaching/arts experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum: One-year experience working with youth or Associates degree.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree. Lifeguard certification; experience as a coach, arts & crafts, performing arts.

Responsibilities

• Direct students in leisure-time recreation activities (games, sports, field trips, off-site activities).
• Assist in organization of recreational programs and trips; encourage student participation.
• Order and issue materials, supplies, films, and game equipment with supervisor approval.
• Develop and operate weekly game activities.
• Assist in center-sponsored trips and events.
• Coach teams engaged in on- and off-center activities.
• Assist students in drama and other creative activities.
