Job summary

RiseBoro Community Partnership seeks a Youth Recreation Coordinator to lead planning, management, and implementation of Beacon youth programming for middle and high school participants.

Under the Program Coordinator, you will design high-quality, developmentally appropriate activities, foster an inclusive space, coordinate staff and partnerships with schools, and monitor impact to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of youth engagement experience.
• Experience in sports, recreation, or youth leadership preferred.
• Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively recruit and retain youth participants through outreach and design.
• Create a welcoming space where youth express themselves and grow.
• Design age-appropriate programming reflecting youth interests.
• Incorporate activities aligning with themes and DYCD expectations.
• Promote wellness and lifelong movement.
• Model respectful communication and leadership.
• Provide mentorship and group dialogue to support social-emotional development.
• Address incidents calmly with developmentally appropriate strategies.
• Collaborate with Beacon leadership to ensure cohesive programming.
• Communicate progress and engagement with supervisors.
• Plan events, trips, and service projects.
• Chaperone youth during trips and off-site activities.
• Partner with community organizations to expand offerings.
• Identify service gaps and propose improvements.
• Maintain attendance and enrollment records per DYCD.
• Submit required lesson plans and incident reports on time.
• Follow emergency procedures and safety protocols.
• Secure and maintain equipment and materials.
• Support site operations and schedules.
