Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking an Assistant Beacon Director to oversee day-to-day administration of the Beacon Center in partnership with the Beacon Director. You will hire and supervise part-time staff and volunteers, develop programs for afterschool, teen and recreation, and manage budgets and records.

This full-time role requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and experience with youth programs; CPR/First Aid certification is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years developing and implementing youth programs with staff supervision.
• 3–5 years in group work counseling or related fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, develop, and supervise part-time staff and volunteers, and conduct staff meetings.
• Develop and supervise Beacon Center Programs, including Afterschool and Teen Programs.
• Monitor purchases and inventory of program equipment and supplies.
• Prepare and monitor program budgets, payroll, and related tasks.
• Participate in DYCD meetings and maintain required data input and reports.
• Organize branch events and serve as staff liaison with schools and administration.
• Supervise subcontracted programs and reciprocal agreements.
• Assist the Beacon Director in building the DYCD Beacon Advisory Board.
