The CENTER for Human Services is hiring a Mentoring and Peer Support Services Specialist (Full-Time) in Bloomington, IL. The role supports individuals aged 10–25 toward recovery and successful probation completion.

ESSENTIAL: lived experience with recovery, CRSS within 2 years, strong communication, and reliable transportation. The position offers benefits and an impactful path in behavioral health services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CRSS designation within two years of hire.
• Personal experience in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
• Willingness to engage in self-disclosure to assist in treatment.
• Passion to help others with their recovery.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and Illinois driver's license with full coverage auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Support advocacy, professional responsibility, mentoring, and recovery support within the program.
• Help individuals build resilience by accessing education, training, and work experiences to reduce recidivism.
• Work closely with court services and probation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of community systems/resources for recovery services.
• Maintain personal recovery processes and develop an action plan for mental, emotional, physical, and social health.
