Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; 18+ years old.
  • Six credits in early childhood education (ECE) or early childhood development (ECD) with six months of teaching experience preferred.
  • Three credits in ECE/ECD with one year of teaching experience also acceptable.
  • National credential such as CCP or CDA with one year teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers and program staff to provide developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and maintain records.
  • Communicate with students, families, staff and community; ensure safety and order in classroom.
  • Follow ASYMCA policies and licensing requirements; support curriculum and instruction.
