Job summary

Armed Services YMCA National Headquarters in Virginia Beach seeks a Teacher Assistant for the CYP program at the ASYMCA Regional Office. You will assist with preschool learning, supervise children, coordinate activities and maintain records to meet safety and licensing standards.

Applicants must be 18+ with a high school diploma; pathways include ECE credits with teaching experience or CCP/CDA with experience. CPR/First Aid is required.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma.
• Six credits in early childhood education (ECE) or early childhood development (ECD) and six months’ teaching experience; OR
• Three credits in ECE/ECD and one year teaching experience; OR
• National credential such as CCP or CDA with one year teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Five Star Kids Pre-K Program meets or exceeds all state operations, safety and licensing standards.
• Support curriculum-based lesson plans and activities that promote STEAM, literacy, health and safety, and character development.
• Attend school and community events to promote ASYMCA programs.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and ASYMCA policy.
• Log work hours daily and ensure timely attendance records.
