Job summary

YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc invites applications for a YBASE Site Coordinator to lead and supervise children aged 4-14 within the YBASE program. You will plan developmentally appropriate activities, monitor attendance, and coordinate transitions between school and pickup while ensuring safety and compliance with licensing standards.

The role requires CPR/First Aid, background checks, and ongoing training hours, with a focus on professional conduct and positive engagement with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Intermediate understanding of current child development principles and appropriate developmental practice.
• Experience in working with school age children.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprint check in accordance with Bright from the Start Licensing requirements.
• Intermediate understanding of computer technology and ability to learn new systems.
• CPR and First Aid required within 90 days of employment.
• 18 Bright From the Start approved training hours trainings per year must be achieved and maintained.
• If assigned to transportation responsibilities, maintain the state required transportation safety training.

Responsibilities

• Engage actively while interacting with and supervising groups of children indoors and outdoors.
• Plan, schedule and implement curriculum with the Program Director, including setting up interest centers and activities.
• Maintain daily attendance reports, assigned records and other clerical tasks including supply and material ordering.
• Coordinate transition between school day and parent pickup and ensure proper sign-in/out; maintain transportation records if applicable.
• Greet and integrate participants into the program and prepare children for parent pickup.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to sanitize and disinfect areas and supplies.
• Distribute snacks and meals, submit counts to Second Harvest and cafeteria manager.
• Uphold YMCA standards of professionalism and treat participants, families and staff with fairness and respect.
• Report suspicions of child abuse as a Mandated Reporter and participate in audits and feedback processes.
• Attend staff meetings, provide staff development and participate in hiring when asked by leadership.

Education

CDA / TCC / Bachelor Degree in early childhood education or related field
